Here’s the Scoop about Walmart Ending Price Matching

June 8, 2016 by Lisa Park + 16 Comments

June 18, 2016 UPDATE: For those of you who shop at the Tooele Walmart, I spoke with a cashier and manager on Saturday and they both confirmed that the Tooele Walmart will go back to it’s normal price matching, meaning that they will still continue to price match store brand for store brand. Management decided it would be a challenge if they make limitations for some things that they would or wouldn’t price match. If the size and price are in the ad, then the Tooele Walmart will price match it. I am glad that they are going back to the normal price matching.

If you haven’t heard, Walmart is ending it’s price matching at more than 500 stores beginning June 9, 2016. Head over here to this post where I give all of the details. I also made a video about it and have the scoop about what’s happening at the Tooele Walmart near me. Head over here to see the video on my YouTube channel.

Because this Walmart price matching change will affect many people, I didn’t post this week’s Grocery Deals to Price Match list. I want to hear from you if this price matching change affects you, if you will still be able to use my Grocery Deals to Price Match list, or if you can no longer use the list. Please comment below and let me know.  All of your comments and feedback will help me determine whether or not my weekly price match list will be of use to you and if I should continue it.

Also in Title, but I would still love the list even if they weren’t price matching. I would use it to plan my shopping trips and to decide what stores to go to.

I called the American Fork, Utah Walmart and they said that pretty much all of Utah’s stores will continue to price match. The manager said that they are doing a trial in some other states out East and discontinuing price matching out there, but the Walmart stores in Utah are going to continue price matching. I would love if you would continue putting the best prices up on this blog! 🙂

I use your weekly low pricing for produce and the name brand items. I look at my flyers for coupons to match up with those low prices. Please continue to do what you’ve been doing. I’m sure it’s a lot of work, but it makes my life so much easier. You’re the best!

I’m going to donate to savingcentbycent@gmail.com on PayPal! The pricematch list is SO VALUABLE to me in northeastern UT County. I’d like to donate something to your cause just to say thank you for continuing the list. Where do I go to get the new lists?
