Easy Slow Cooker Beef & Broccoli

  • 1½ pounds sirloin or flank steak, sliced thin into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ⅔ cup soy sauce
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 Tablespoons cold water
  • Rice
  1. Spray the inside of the crock pot with cooking spray. Place the cut up steak in the crock pot.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil and minced garlic. Pour it in the crock pot over the steak.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-5 hours.
  4. Thirty minutes before serving, in a small bowl whisk together the cornstarch and cold water. Add it to the crock pot beef mixture and stir. Cover and cook on high for another 25 minutes.
  5. A few minutes before serving, place the broccoli in a microwavable container with ½ inch water. Steam the broccoli in the microwave on high for 3 minutes. Or steam the broccoli on the stove top by placing the broccoli in a pan on the stove with ½ inch water. Cook for about 3 minutes.
  6. Drain the water from the broccoli and stir broccoli into crock pot.
  7. Serve the beef and broccoli over rice.
