This Lemon Coconut Homemade Sugar Scrub is so simple to make, and it makes my hands feel so soft. Plus, it’s a lot less expensive than store-bought skin moisturizers and exfoliating products. And this would make a great gift for Mother’s Day, which is coming up soon. Here’s what you need:
Lemon Coconut Homemade Sugar Scrub:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 fresh lemon
1. Place the sugar in a medium bowl.
2. Measure out 1/4 cup coconut oil, heat until melted but not too hot. Just a few seconds is all that’s needed. Pour oil over sugar and mix together.
3. Squeeze half of a lemon into the mixture and mix together. You could also substitute the fresh lemon for an essential oil if you want a different scent.
4. Place your sugar scrub in a mason jar to store.
To use the sugar scrub, scoop out a spoonful and rub it on your hands. The oil moisturizes your hands while the sugar exfoliates. Rinse your hands off with cool water.
What is the shelf life for these? Could I make now for Christmas presents?
The shelf life is 3-6 months, so you will want to wait a little closer to Christmas to make them.
