With my baby coming in August, I’ve been making a lot of freezer meals. I remember how exhausted I was with my second child and how nice it was not to have to do a lot of cooking that first month after the baby was born. As I compiled my list of freezer meals I wanted to make, I saw that I would need a bunch of shredded chicken for multiple recipes. Here’s an easy way how to shred chicken:
1 – Fill the crock pot with chicken.
2 – Pour in 1/4 cup water to make sure the chicken stays moist.
3 – Set it on low and let it cook 8-10 hours.
4 – Place chicken on a cutting board. Using two forks, shred the chicken. Mine shredded so easily!
I’m now ready to compile more freezer meals. And for the chicken I don’t need for my freezer meals, I’ll place it in a ziploc bag, date it, and then freeze it for later. It’s convenient to have shredded chicken on hand to pull out when I need it for a recipe. Within in the month, I’ll be sharing my favorite meals I like to freeze, as well as some tips on how to freeze meals.
Do you fill your pot with frozen or thawed chicken?
I’ve done it both ways. You can fill it with frozen or thawed chicken.
