This 7-Layer Tex Mex Dip is a favorite appetizer when we have family gatherings, and it’s one of the best 7-layer dips I’ve tasted! Part of the reason I like the taste a lot is because of the bean dip. I’ve used refried beans many times and it tastes good, but I personally like it so much better when I purchase ready-made bean dip. Here’s the recipe for the 7-Layer Tex Mex Dip.
7-Layer Tex Mex Dip
3 medium ripe avocados
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 cans (10.5 oz.) bean dip or 2 cans (16 oz.) refried beans (This is my favorite bean dip here.)
1 package (1 oz.) taco seasoning
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
1 medium-sized tomato, chopped
1/2 can (6 oz.) olives, drained and sliced
8 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions:
1. Peel and pit the avocados, then mash them in a bowl. Stir in lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
2. In a different bowl, combine the sour cream and mayonnaise.
3. In a third bowl, mix the bean dip and taco seasoning.
4. Place the bean dip mixture in the bottom of a 9×13 dish. Add the avocado mixture on top of it, followed by the sour cream mixture. Sprinkle the top with cheese, green onions, tomatoes and olives. Place in the fridge to chill. Serve with taco chips or corn chips.
Sounds delicious! I love a dip! I just tried Pizza Dip a while back and I love it. It’s quick and easy to make and makes a nice snack. My kids and I are having girls’ night this Friday and this sounds like a good idea.
