I had a group of friends over for a barbecue recently. I wanted to be able to cook the main dish in my crock pot because the weather was showing possible rain. I also wanted it to be stress free and simple. I found this Pulled Pork recipe on All Recipes and knew I had to try it out. It was a success!
Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
1 pork tenderloin, 2 lbs.
1 can or bottle root beer (12 fl. oz.)
1 bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce (18 oz.)
8 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted
Directions:
1. Place the pork tenderloin in a slow cooker; pour the root beer over the meat. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours until well cooked and the pork shreds easily.
2. Drain well. Shred pork. Stir in barbecue sauce. Serve over hamburger buns.
Freezer Instructions: With the leftover pulled pork, place it in a ziploc freezer bag and freeze for up to 2 months.
I just had this at a potluck dinner for someone moving away. This recipe sounds good with root beer! I have never heard of that before. Thanks for the easy recipe. My husband smokes these and this sounds great for winter. Rita Spratlen rjspratlen@gmail.com
