If you need to make a dessert for a large group, this Peanut Butter Bar recipe will definitely be a crowd pleaser. It’s also one of my husband’s favorites, so I make it often, then give some away so we don’t eat the whole pan.
Peanut Butter Bars
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup peanut butter, chunky
1 cup butter
3 eggs
1-2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup oatmeal
chocolate Chips
Peanut Butter Icing:
1/4 cup peanut butter, creamy
milk
powdered sugar
Directions: Mix sugars, butter, and eggs. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then add it to the wet ingredients. Mixture will be sticky. Press onto large ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-24 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top when hot out of the oven, then let them sit for a couple of minutes before spreading them around.
Make the peanut butter icing by combining the creamy peanut butter, milk and powdered sugar. Mix in the powdered sugar and milk until the icing is a little on the runny side and you have the desired flavor you want. Spread the icing on top of the peanut butter bars.
