Grocery Deals to Price Match (Aug. 12-18) + Walmart Policy Update

Grocery Deals to Price Match

Walmart has updated it’s ad match policy. One of the changes that might affect this Grocery Deals list the most is that Walmart will not price match competitors’ private label promotions, which means we won’t be able to price match the Great Value brand for the Kroger or Western Family brand. As of right now, the Walmart I shop at is still price matching the store brand item for the Great Value brand item. The cashiers haven’t said anything to me about not doing it.

I’m still going to post the Store Brand prices each week on this Grocery Deals list, but there is a possibility that you’ll have to run to the store listed below to get the deal on the store brand price. For instance, if Smith’s has Kroger Tomato Sauce on sale for $0.20, then you’ll need to run to Smith’s to grab the deal instead of being able to price match the Great Value Tomato Sauce.

This change in Walmart’s ad match policy is frustrating. I’m still planning on posting this Grocery Deals list weekly because I think there are deals you can price match that will save you money. Please let me know if you’ve seen this change at the Walmart where you shop. And how has this affected your grocery shopping?

After looking through the weekly ads, here are this week’s best grocery deals in Utah, August 12-18, 2015, that you’ll want to price match at Walmart, Target, or another store that prices matches in your area. If you do price match at Target, you’ll need to take the ads with you to show them.

The items highlighted in red are really good deals that you should stock up on. And some products have coupons that you can use to get an even better deal after price matching.

Be sure to read these Tips on How to Price Match at Walmart, as well as read about the Walmart Savings Catcher program to save more money.
